Police are investigating the cause of crash on I-595 that left a 24-year-old woman hospitalized Saturday morning.
The incident occurred westbound on I-595 and Flamingo Road around 6:28 a.m. Saturday.
According to Florida Highway officials, Jessica Walisch, 24, was driving a 2013 Mazda3 when for undetermined reasons, she struck the vehicle of 66-year-old Adolfo Escalante. Escalante was driving a 2013 Chevy Tahoe.
After the initial impact, Walisch's vehicle overturned several times ejecting her from the vehicle, authorities say. Walisch was transported to Broward Medical Center.
Escalante's vehicle spun across westbound lanes. His condition has not been released.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
