Female Bandit Boosts Ambulance

48-year-old Miami woman stole ambulance: police

Generally when you swipe a car, you don't want it to stand out. That's why Honda Civics and Accords are the most popular steal for car thieves -- they're bland and common.

So when Karen Taylor was spotted by a Miami-Dade police officer in a stolen ambulance yesterday, she may as well have had the lights flashing and sirens blaring.

Police said the 48 year old boosted the Medivan ambulance right off the street. It had been reported stolen in Coral Gables just hours earlier.

Taylor was busted for grand theft auto and resisting arrest. She didn't go easily, and a bystander had to help the arresting officer get her under control, according to a Miami-Dade police report.

She's being held on $10,000 bond.
