Miami Dade College Teaming Up With Walmart for COVID Vaccine Event Next Week

Miami Dade College is teaming up with Walmart to provide doses of the COVID vaccine at several campuses starting next week.
Doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be given from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at the following locations:
- Tuesday, June 8th at the Hialeah campus (1780 West 49th Street, Rom 5101)
- Wednesday, June 9th at the Doral campus (3800 Northwest 115th Avenue, Room 1102)
- Thursday, June 10th at the Kendall campus (11011 Southwest 104th Street, Room K-413)
No insurance is required and anyone over the age 12 is eligible, though anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Click here for info on how to make an appointment.
Free, Pop-Up Vaccination Site to Open at Museum of Discovery & Science
The Florida Department of Emergency Management will offer the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine at a pop-up vaccination site at the Museum of Discovery & Science for people 16 and up.
Vaccines will be administered Saturday, June 12, at the museum's atrium from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or until vaccinations run out.
Proof of insurance is not required and you don't need to make an appointment. Vaccines will be administered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Those 16 and 17 years old need to be accompanied by an adult.
Each person vaccinated will receive free exhibit admission to the Museum.

Barry University Joins the White House's COVID-19 College Vaccine Challenge
Barry University is the first institution in South Florida to join the White House's initiative to get more people vaccinated.
The COVID-19 College Vaccine Challenge, part of the National Month of Action to mobilize 70% of adults to get at least one shot by July 4, calls on participating institutions to:
- Engage every student, faculty and staff member and make sure they know they are eligible to get vaccinated and have the resources to do so
- Organize and implement plans to get as many members of the college community to get vaccinated
- Deliver vaccine access for all - bring vaccines on-site and make it easy for students, staff and faculty to get vaccinated at sites nearby them this summer.
