A five-year-old child was killed Saturday night following a serious car crash on the Turnpike.
The incident happened Saturday evening on the Turnpike at Southwest 112th Avenue.
According to officials, the driver was traveling northbound, when a semi-truck began to merge into her lane. The driver then hit the brakes and lost control of the car, causing it to rollover.
Four passengers were ejected from the car as the car overturned.
One child, a five-year-old was pronounced dead later that evening. Three others remain in the hospital. A 32-year-old woman, who was identified as Dolores Veggiano, was also hospitalized and is in serious condition.
An investigation is now underway, as this is a homicide.
