Grass Fire in Southwest Miami-Dade

Firefighters responded to a grass fire in southwest Miami-Dade Thursday, officials said.

The fire broke out in the area of Southwest 122nd Avenue and 228th Street, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said.

The fire was contained and Florida Forest Service crews were putting out spot fires, officials said.

About five acres had been burned as well as some power lines, officials said. Southwest 122nd Avenue was closed between 222nd Street and 232nd Street.

No injuries were reported and no homes were evacuated or damaged.
