Jimmy John's in Fort Lauderdale Hit by Data Breach

Jimmy John’s restaurants announced Wednesday that it is the latest business to have a possible security breach involving credit and debit card data.

The data breach ran from June 16 to September 5 and involved 216 stores across the country. One store in South Florida was impacted by the data breach, the Jimmy John’s restaurant on the 1500 block of North Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The restaurant chain said the data breach at the Fort Lauderdale store happened from July 1 to August 4.

A press release from the store chain said the breach came when a hacker stole log-in credentials from a point-of-sale vendor and used the credentials to remotely access point-of-sale systems at some stores.

The company said it would offer identity protection services to customers impacted by the breach. For more information customers can call 1-855-398-6442 or click here.
