Authorities say a Tampa man involved in a hit-and-run crash was driving drunk with a baby in his vehicle.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reports a deputy pulled over 27-year-old John McGettrick Thursday night after a witness reported that he had been involved in a crash and drove away.
The deputy reported McGettrick showed signs of impairment and became hostile. Breathe tests showed McGettrick had a blood alcohol level of 0.238 and 0.226 percent. Florida law considers a driver impaired at 0.08.
A news release says a 10-month-old baby in McGettrick's vehicle was not injured. The child, whose relationship to McGettrick is not known, was turned over to a relative.
McGettrick was charged with DUI, DUI accompanied by a minor and resisting an officer without violence. He was being held on $2,000 bail.
