A mother is facing charges after police say she picked her children up from their Fort Lauderdale daycare while drunk and was caught on camera abusing them.

Sarice Nicole Sharp, 25, was arrested Thursday on two counts of child abuse without great bodily harm and two counts of child neglect without great bodily harm, according to an arrest report.

The report said officers responded to the 1200 block of Northwest 13th Lane after receiving a report of a mother "throwing her children up and down the street while intoxicated."

Sharp, who was yelling and screaming at a witness, had a strong smell of alcoholic beverage on her breath and person, red bloodshot eyes and "couldn't comprehend simple questions," the report said.

The report said Sharp had been given a ride to a nearby daycare to pick up her children, and had tossed one to the ground and grabbed the other by the arm and holding him in the air, the report said. Part of the incident was captured on video surveillance, the report said.

"She started walking down the street and then next thing I know she just picked the smallest baby up and she slung him and he hit face first on the ground and that's when she kicked him and spit on him," one witness, who didn't want to be identified, told NBC 6.

Both of Sharp's children were taken to a local hospital, and one child had a small bump on their head, the report said.

Sharp was booked into jail, where she was being held on $9,500 bond Friday, records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.
