One person was killed and another injured after gunmen opened fire on the streets of south Miami-Dade Friday morning, officials said.
The shooting happened around 9 a.m. at South Dixie Highway and Southwest 248th St.
One unidentified person was killed at the scene and another slightly injured, officials with the Miami-Dade Fire Department said.
At least three armed suspects were seen leaving the scene in a Dodge van. One was reportedly wearing a black mask and was armed with a revolver. Another was wearing a black shirt and was armed with a semi-automatic pistol.
Police are still looking for the suspects and have set up a perimeter in the area of the shooting.
Two area schools -- Redland Elementary and Redland Middle school -- were both placed on lockdown while the investigation continues.
