New TSA Software Would End “Naked” Scans

The TSA announced that it is taking steps to make their airport security standards a little less embarrassing. In a press release, the agency said it has developed new software that would eliminate the passenger-specific images that show up on a scan reading during a security check. That means instead of a graphic, virtually naked image of the passenger, a general outline of a body will be pictured. The TSA promises that Automated Target Recognition software will still be able to detect potentially threatening items just as effectively and they will begin testing the new software this fall.
