Dolphins Upset With Fans Taping Practices

Dolfans leaking practice videos on YouTube

Dolfans may be starved for any kind of Dolphins-related content following the summer NFL lockout, but they may have taken their thirst for footage a step too far after uploading videos of the team's first preseason practices on YouTube.

According to the Miami Herald, there are at least six videos of recent practices floating around the internet, some of which are up to 15 minutes long.

The videos "show the Dolphins use of Reggie Bush" as well as blitz packages, according to the Herald, which declined to link to them (but we figure anyone who can read an article on the Internet can perform a simple search on YouTube).

Before any open practice, the team always announces that taking photos or video of any portion of practice is prohibited, but that hasn't stopped some fans. Dolphins President Harvey Greene was "none too happy" when he found out about the leaked videos, according to the Herald.

The Dolphins had a hard enough time defeating opponents in 2010 without their fans leaking practice footage onto the internet.

And considering their first regular season opponent, the New England Patriots, have gotten into trouble for using secret opponent videos in the past, the fan tapings seem even more shortsighted.

On the other hand, unless the Dolphins are preparing a new trick formation to surprise opponents (and all signs point to no on that idea), there might not be too much to glean from the practice tapes.

Even so, the mini-mutiny by Dolfans during training camp (booing Chad Henne at a scrimmage and chanting "We want Orton," then this brouhaha) has at least been entertaining.

After being subjected to subpar play and maddeningly bad personnel moves over the past decade, it's nice to see Dolphins fans refusing to bend to the will of the team which has disappointed them so often lately.
