British Comedian Rowan Atkinson Injured in Car Wreck

The comedian best known to U.S. audiences as the bumbling "Mr. Bean" had a scary mishap behind the wheel of his sports car while driving through Cambridgeshire, England.

Rowan Atkinson, who has also starred in hit films like "Four Weddings and a Funeral" and "Rat Race," reportedly lost control of his McLaren F1 sports car and spun off the road - striking a tree before catching fire.

The 56 year-old Atkinson walked away from the crash, and was treated for a minor injury to his shoulder.

The McLaren F1 is one of the most expensive and highly-tuned "supercars" in the world, capable of a top speed of around 230 mph. Atkinson, who is a known racing enthusiast, purchased his F1 for roughly 650,000 GBP, or a little over $1 million.

Atkinson is expected to be discharged from the hospital today.
