Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire that caused heavy damage to a Fort Lauderdale bar early Thursday.
Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue responded to Freddie's Anchor Bar at 2300 Southwest 4th Avenue around 6 a.m. and found heavy fire and smoke in the front of the building, Fire Rescue spokesman Matt Little said.
Weather conditions were windy upon arrival and it took firefighters 35 minutes to control the blaze, Little said.
The front of the structure sustained heavy damage but thankfully the business was closed at the time and there were no injuries reported.
Investigators are now working to determine the cause of the fire.
