A Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue unit that was transporting a patient to the hospital ended up overturned following a crash Wednesday morning, officials said.

The truck was taking the patient to Broward Health when it was involved in an accident with another vehicle in the 1500 block of Davie Boulevard just before noon, Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue spokesman Matt Little said.

The truck ended up on its side, while footage showed the other vehicle with heavy damage.

Now five patients were being taken to Broward Health, Little said. One of the patients is a firefighter and another was inside the other vehicle, Little said.

No other details were immediately known.
