    Numerous more flights were canceled and delayed at South Florida airports Tuesday as much of the United States continued to experience extreme cold weather.

    At Miami International Airport, nine arrivals and five departures were canceled, while 14 arrival flights experienced delays.

    The cities affected include New York, Newark, Boston and Chicago.

    JetBlue passengers such as Bonnie Hoffman were stranded at the Fort Lauderdale airport Tuesday in the middle of the airline's reset operation, after JetBlue grounded flights at four frigid Northeastern airports late Monday.

    Hoffman was hoping she wouldn’t spend another night sleeping on an airport bench. She spoke with NBC 6 while lying down, covered by a blanket.

    The deep freeze affected hundreds of South Florida flights Monday, as an Arctic blast brought below-zero temperatures to more than half of the U.S.

    Travelers are advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
