New York Tops Miami as King of Road Jerks

Miamians drop road rage title to Big Apple

Move over Miami, or you might get run over by a driver from the Big Apple.

After a four-year reign as the city with the angriest and most aggressive drivers, Miami has been knocked out of the top spot for road rage by the City that Never Sleeps.

Despite Miamians' best efforts to tailgate, speed, honk their horns and generally act like jackasses behind the wheel, the 305's drivers had nothing on the 212.

"New Yorkers were most likely to wave their fists or arms. They were most likely to lay on the horn and they were most likely to make some sort of obscene gesture," said Michael Bush, whose company Affinion Group, commissioned the survey.

Even more surprising was the fact that Miamians couldn't even dial up enough road rage to make it into the top five on the list. Miami came in seventh behind Dallas/Fort Worth, Detroit, Atlanta and Minneapolis/St Paul.

Baltimore, Sacramento and Pittsburgh had the most pleasant drivers, according to the survey of over 2,500 drivers.

But if there's one thing Miamians can do it's multitask. The city apparently has drivers who are most likely to shave, read or put on make-up while driving.
