Burdened with a barrage of drug dealing and sex-for-cash charges, Hallandale Beach's only strip club is sprinting off into the sunset.

The Cheetah Club will be selling its liquor license and closing up shop for good after its owner cut a deal with the state Department of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco.

The club has been closed since an early March raid resulted in the arrest of 16 dancers and two managers on prostitution charges.

The flesh den had been the target of undercover officers for months. Dancers routinely sold the officers cocaine and offered them sex - all with the club's knowledge. The club even took a cut of the action, according to state records.

"I'm so glad (Cheetah) is closed," Mayor Joy Cooper told the Sun-Sentinel. "It was not the highlight of Hallandale Beach, having a strip club in our city."

The Cheetah, owned by Set Enterprises, Inc., will have to pay a $15,000 fine under the agreement. Set Enterprises' owner, Joe Rodriguez, wasn't charged in the raid.
