The Long Arm of the Law

One Dolphin makes the Pro Bowl

The Miami Dolphins season may not end with a trip to the Super Bowl in their home stadium but Jake Long will have at least one more game this season in Land Shark.

Long was selected as one of the starting tackles in the Pro Bowl, which will be played in Miami for the first time in decades.

The selection might be bittersweet for Long since he'll miss out on a free trip to Hawaii, but we guess he'll have to take comfort in his stellar play protecting first-year starter Chad Henne's fanny.

No other Dolphins were selected for the roster, but fullback Lousaka Polite should have meritted strong consideration. He may find his way on the roster yet. Ted Ginn Jr, had an outside chance of making the team as a special teams returner.

On defense, Randy Starks' play on the D-line could have got him a trip to the Pro Bowl. Injuries could land another Dolphin on the roster.

Six former University of Miami Hurricanes made the NFL's equivalent of an all-star team, including five starters.
