2 People Arrested After Children Ingest Acid-Like Liquid

Two people have been arrested on felony charges after two children ingested an acid-type liquid in a residence in Milton on the Florida Panhandle.

The Pensacola News Journal reports police arrested 24-year-old Amber Nicole Cooley and 27-year-old Kyle Joseph Cooley Wednesday on charges including child neglect with great bodily harm, manufacture of meth while child present and possession of drug equipment.

Authorities say two children had ingested a chemical which is consistent with the manufacturing of meth. After a search warrant was executed at the residence, deputies found items indicating meth was being produced in the home.

Officials have not provided information about the conditions of the children.

Amber and Kyle Cooley are being held without bond. It isn't clear if they have attorneys.
