3 Elderly Women Tied Up in Home Invasion

Suspects ransacked home in Miami

A band of thieves preyed on the elderly Monday afternoon in Miami and got away with cash and jewelry, police said.

Two elderly women and their caretaker were tied up during a home invasion, but luckily none of the women were hurt.

Daisy Martinez, 61, had arrived at 3323 NW 25th St. to tend to her two patients, when three men ambushed her as she tried to open the door.

After forcing the in-home nurse inside, one of the suspects brandished a gun and forced Martinez, 95-year-old Maria Lopez and Sonya Castro, 53, to the ground.

The three women were then tied as the ski-mask wearing crooks stole valuables out of the home.

The victims could not get a good description of the suspects, but they allegedly fled on foot.
