Lawyers for a South Florida mother accused of trying to kill her two children by driving her car into Biscayne Bay are due to appear in court to discuss the woman’s sentencing.
Attorneys for 28-year-old Shirley Jean will discuss a plea deal and where Jean will serve time – in jail or at a residential treatment center.
Cops: Mom Crashed Car to Kill Her Kids
Jean faces two counts of premeditated attempted murder after she drove her car off the Julia Tuttle Expressway, according to online jail records. Her 7-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son were in the vehicle, Miami Beach Police said.
The two children were pulled to shore by a witness and two other men.
The case is set for Wednesday, Aug. 29 at 1 p.m. before Judge William Thomas.
