BSO, SWAT Respond After Man Barricades Himself in Tamarac Home

Authorities wait outside a home after a man barricades himself inside a home in Tamarac.

Broward Sheriff's Office deputies and a SWAT team responded after a man barricaded himself inside a Tamarac home after threatening a family member, authorities said.

Deputies responded to the home in the 5200 block of Rock Island Road just after 2 a.m., authorities said.

The man was believed to be alone inside the home, though there were weapons inside, the BSO said.

The incident ended around 11;30 a.m. after the man surrendered the BSO said. No one was injured.

Authorities haven't identified the man or said what charges he'll face.

The incident caused Rock Island Road to be closed in the immediate area.
