All Clear: Boil Water Notice Lifted in NMB, Nearby Cities

A precautionary boil water notice was cancelled Friday after water samples from North Miami Beach Water came back clean. North Miami Beach, Miami Gardens, Sunny Isles Beach, Haulover Park, Golden Beach and other nearby neighborhoods were affected by the alert.

The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade gave the green light to lift the notice. Tests conducted at 38 sites throughout the NMB water distribution system show no indication of contamination, NBM Water said.

A hotline has been set up for residents. Anyone seeking information can call 305-777-2525.

A power outage at a water plant, which services a huge swath of North Dade, caused the water pressure throughout the distribution system to drop below the standard rate Wendesday, prompting the notice.

Residents were advised to boil all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes.
