A pet cat was rescued after a fire swept through a home in southwest Miami-Dade Tuesday.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units responded to the home on Southwest 86th Lane near 132nd Court and found flames and heavy smoke pouring out, officials said.
The residents of the home were able to get out safely without injuries. Their pet cat was rescued and treated at the scene before being returned to the owner, officials said.
The cause of the fire was unknown.
