The Miami Marlins were beaten by the Washington Nationals 8-2 on Sunday in the series finale at Marlins Park.
Adam Conley took the loss for Miami after walking a career-high seven in his 5.1 innings of work. Three of those walks were of the intentional variety, but still count on Conley's line-score. The lefty also allowed seven hits and six runs and now has a 4.15 E.R.A this season.
The Marlins after dropping this series are now 6-7 overall against Washington this season. With the Nationals expected to be at or near the top of the division all season long, these games come with extra importance for the Marlins.
Miami's only runs came courtesy of Justin Bour who hit a home run for a second straight day. Like Saturday's, the blast was of the two-run variety, and Bour now has nine home runs this season. The slugger has 23 runs batted on the year and is hitting .254.
Giancarlo Stanton finally collected a hit as part of a 1-4 day. The slugger still struck out twice and is 5 for his last 51. Stanton entered the game on an 0-18 stretch with 15 strikeouts mixed in.
Wei-Yin Chen will get the ball on Monday when the Marlins open a series against the Tampa Bay Rays.
