Disney World Using 300 Drones in New Holiday Light Show

Walt Disney World is using 300 drones in a new Christmas light show.

A dress rehearsal was held Wednesday night, but Disney has not announced dates for the show. The Orlando Sentinel reports it is believed to be the first time drones will be used in a performance of this magnitude in the U.S.

Disney is collaborating with Intel on the project. The show will take place at Disney Springs.

Intel's drone weighs less than a volleyball and are equipped with four LED lights that can create over 4 billion color combinations. They can fly for 20 minutes and are allowed to fly as high as 400 feet. All 300 drones are controlled by one computer.

Disney has a second 300-drone fleet but has not said what they intend to use it for.
