FBI Looking for Hallandale Beach Bank Robber

The FBI said it’s looking for a bank robber who hit a Hallandale Beach Suntrust Bank Friday afternoon.

According to the FBI, the robbery took place at the Suntrust Bank on the 1900 block of East Hallandale Beach Boulevard around 2:30 p.m. The FBI said the robber entered the bank, showed a weapon to the teller and demanded money.

Federal agents said customers were in the ban at the time of the robbery, but no one was injured. The FBI said it wasn’t releasing how much money was taken during the robbery.

In a separate robbery, a BB&T branch near the intersectino of NW 62nd Street and 14th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale was hit at 5:30 p.m. It's unclear if the two robberies are related. The robbers were wearing different clothing in each robbery.

No customers were in the BB&T branch when it was robbed Friday evening, the FBI said.
