FIU's Butt Grabber Strikes Again

The Florida International University Police Department is once again warning students on campus of a serial butt grabber on the Modesto A. Maidique Campus.

FIU Police said the most recent incident occurred on Saturday and Sunday evenings. Police said the serial butt grabber has hit multiple times since June. FIU Police said the man rides his bicycle past women and grabs their buttocks.

"Our university is an open campus, so we don't kow if this person is a student or someone from a nearby area," said FIU Police Chief Alex Casas.

Police said the incidents typically happen in the evening hours along areas like the Green Library Breezeway and other areas. FIU Police said they haven’t confirmed the incidents are related, but believe the actions are similar enough to continue telling the community about the occurrences.

Meanwhile, several students said they are outraged.

"It's violating, violating women, our bodies, our privacy, everything," student Gabrielle Martinez said.

Student Alicia Doolin said she isn't necessarily scared, but wants the harassment to end.

"I don't really think I would be mentally or physically scarred by it, but no one really wants that," she said. "No one needs that sexual harassment in their life."

FIU Police said if you have any information or have been a victim to call 305-348-2626.
