‘I Want to Hear Her Voice': Families of Missing Miami Couple Desperate for Answers

The search continues for a young Miami couple who seems to have vanished. Alexandra Picon and Brandon Arana, both 21, left a Kendall restaurant early Sunday morning but haven't been seen since.

Alexandra's mother initially called police to report them missing and said her daughter's cellphone has been off since Sunday, and she hasn't used her credit or debit cards.

"I just want to hear her voice, know she's okay. I want her to come home but mostly, I just want her to be safe," said Rita Picon, Alexandra's mother.

The last time Rita heard from her daughter was around 3 a.m. Sunday. Alexandra sent her a text message saying she just left work and was headed for a drink with co-workers after what she described as a "horrible shift." She told her mom she would explain the next day.

"By 5:00, I waited and waited, that's when I called police," Rita explained.

Miami-Dade Police said Alexandra and Brandon went to Cadillac Ranch at Town & Country Mall, just feet away from World of Beer, where they both work, and where Alexandra had just finished a Saturday night shift.

Detectives said the couple left together in a red 2014 Toyota Corolla (AGG-I88). The vehicle's SunPass account registered them passing the Kendall Toll Plaza headed southbound on the Florida Turnpike.

Brandon's family didn't want to talk on camera, but they are talking to Alexandra's parents. "We are working together to find them," Rita said.

Anyone with information on the couple's whereabouts is urged to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
