Keys Man Arrested for Shooting Car with Pellet Rifle

Authorities in the Florida Keys arrested a man for shooting a car with a pellet rifle.

Monroe County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a man shooting a rifle at Smuggler's Cove Marina in Islamorada around 10:30 p.m Saturday. When deputies arrived, they saw 30-year-old John Lear standing on a balcony. The owner of a truck in the parking lot told police that he heard something that sounded like a bullet hit his vechicle. The truck had damage on the driver's side.

Upon searching Lear's room, they found a pellet rifle and an open can of pellets. Deputies also said the television set in the room had a hole in the middle of it as if it had been shot by a pellet.

Deputies arrested Lear and charged him with shooting a missile at an occupied vehicle.
