Authorities are investigating after a man was shot and killed in northwest Miami-Dade early Thursday.
Homicide detectives saturated the area in the 2300 block of Northwest 81st Terrace around 1 a.m.
Antwan Jackson said he came out of his home and found the body of 27-year-old Erwin Davis.
"I came out the house and seen dude lying on the ground right there dead," Jackson said.
Witnesses said they saw Davis running for his life when he was shot numerous times just blocks from his own house. The witnesses weren't able to identify the triggerman.
The victim's father was still in a state of shock shortly after the shooting. He said he can't imagine who would want to kill his son.
"He wasn't a violent person, was really nice and that's the kind of person he is," the father said.
