Police are looking for a suspect who shot a man during a dispute at a Little Havana gas station early Monday.

The shooting happened around 3 a.m. near the BP station at Southwest 12th Avenue and 8th Street when a man who was pumping gas got into an argument with another man who was walking by, police said.

Police believe the man who was pumping gas opened fire, striking the other man once before fleeing the scene in a green car.

Guillermo Rotella, the assistant manager at a CVS pharmacy across the street from the gas station, said the victim came into the store just after the shooting.

"I was working, I was at the register and this guy just came in and he's like 'I got shot'" Rotella said. "I was going home, I'm like 'for real' he's like 'oh look, I'm bleeding over here' and I gave him some paper towels and he came outside and sat down there.

Rotella said he gave the man paper towels as he waited for police and an ambulance to arrive.

"He was pretty calm for just getting shot, he was pretty calm, he was smoking a cigarette," he said.

Police said the man suffered non-life threatening injuries. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
