Miami Police are cracking down on drunk drivers with a large multi-agency DUI checkpoint on Thursday from 7 p.m. to midnight, according to a news release.
The checkpoint will take place in Downtown Miami on NE 1st Avenue and 10th Street near popular nightclubs, Space and E11even.
Along with the checkpoint, officials will be conducting a DUI saturation patrol, looking for drivers who are breaking any traffic laws. Drivers not wearing a seatbelt will also be ticketed as police will show zero tolerance.
Officials say the goal of the checkpoint is to identify and apprehend impaired drivers to prevent them from harming others.
Traffic delays are highly possible.
