A Pinecrest Police motorcycle cop who crashed while escorting the Hillary Clinton motorcade on the Palmetto Expressway remained hospitalized Wednesday.
Officer Maikel Rodriguez suffered broken bones and road rash but is expected to make a full recovery, Pinecrest Police officials said. He also received a call from Clinton wishing him well.
Rodriguez, who has been a motorman for four years and has been with the department for 10, was airlifted to the hospital after Tuesday afternoon's crash on the Palmetto near Northwest 57th Avenue.
The cause of the crash is being investigated.
