Police Search for Armed Man Who Robbed 2 Miami Gas Stations

Miami Police are looking for a man who has robbed two gas stations at gunpoint.

The first robbery happened Aug. 14 at the Shell gas station at 6690 W. Flagler Street when the man, who was wearing something to cover his face, pointed a pistol at the clerk and demanded money, police said.

He reached over the counter and took money from the register and fled the scene in a newer model black BMW, police said.

The victim, Marile Gutierrez, said she didn’t even look at the suspect as she was too scared to make eye contact with the gun in her face. Ray Hernandez was at the store and said he had no idea the robbery was even happening.

“We were in the back working when the girl came out screaming and we saw the car take off eastbound down Flagler Street at a high rate of speed,” Hernandez said.

A month later, on Sept. 14, the same suspect robbed the Shell station at 3601 Biscayne Boulevard. He took money from the attendant and fled the scene in a similar black BMW.

The suspect is described as a black male, 6-feet, 170-180 pounds. Police say the BMW is possibly a 7 series with four doors and tinted windows.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
