Two Students Arrested for Gun at Miami High School

Two students at Green Springs High School in Miami were arrested for bringing a stolen gun on campus Thursday, authorities said.

Just before 3 p.m., Principal Enrique Palma received a call regarding a student having a loaded gun at the school at 3555 Northwest 7th Street.

Palma confronted the student, who had the gun in plain view, and immediately called Miami Police, officials said. Officers responded and arrested a 19-year-old female student.

Police also found out that a 16-year-old boy had been the one that brought the gun on campus.

The female student has been charged with carrying a conceal weapon, bringing a loaded gun on school campus and possession of a stolen weapon. The 16-year-old has been charged with carrying a conceal weapon and bringing a loaded gun on school campus.

Police said the gun was reported stolen out of Miramar.

Green Springs High School is a free public high school serving students ages 16 to 21 who prefer a non-traditional learning environment with flexible scheduling options, according to its website.
