Broward Sheriff's Deputies are looking for a car that hit a woman in Pompano Beach then left her in the roadway, leaving her in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
BSO says the victim, 39-year-old Amanda Crews, was walking eastbound across Northwest 31st Avenue around 12:45 a.m. when a vehicle headed northbound on Northwest 31st Avenue struck her at the intersection at Northwest Second Street.
Deputies believe the vehicle may have been a full-size SUV or truck.
The impact of the crash sent Crews' body flying into the air. She landed in the roadway, and the driver fled the scene headed northbound on Northwest 31st Avenue.
Pompano Beach Fire Rescue transported Crews to Broward Health North Medical where the remains in critical condition.
According to BSO, the vehicle may be an older model, full-size SUV or pickup truck and it likely has damage to the passenger side headlight assembly and leading edge of the hood.
The vehicle is also probably missing its radio antenna, according to BSO.
