Young Girls Abducted by Non-Custodial Parents: Miami Police

Investigators are asking for the public's help locating two young girls, reportedly abducted by their parents, according to police.

The girls were last seen on Sept. 20 along Southwest 23rd Street, just west of 27th Avenue, in Miami-Dade where their grandmother lives.

Miami Police said the two sisters, ages 3 and 4, were abducted by their parents. The girls are Keilyn and Kristel Martinez.

Police said their parents, Christy Rezkala and Erlin Martinez, who do not have custody, were visiting the girls at their grandmother's home. When she went to sleep, police said the couple took advantage and snatched the girls.

Neighbors said the girls always looked like they were well taken care of by their grandmother.

"Always clean and when they go outside to play with other kids, they are supervised by their aunt or their grandmother," one neighbor said.

"She would go out with the kids and play with them outside," another added.

A case worker from the Florida Department of Children and Families was knocking on doors near the grandmother's home, and said they are investigating the incident.

Police said the girls don't appear to be in immediate danger, but their father does have a record out of Hillsborough County. According to the arrest report, Martinez was charged with domestic violence and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon back in May.

If you have any information about this case, you're urged to call Miami Police or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
