Jay-Z fans got a pleasant surprise tonight.

During halftime of the NBA Finals game between the San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat, Hov announced with a three-minute ad that he'll be dropping a new album titled "Magna Carta Holy Grail" July 4.

"The album is about, like this duality of how do you navigate through this whole thing--through success, through failures, through all this--and remain yourself," Jay-Z tells his collaborators in the clip, which include Timbaland, Pharrell Williams and Swizz Beatz.

"We need to write new rules," he added.

And if you're a Samsung Galaxy Smartphone owner, there's an extra perk. Those with a Galaxy phone will be able to download an app on June 24 that will allow the first 1 million users to unlock Hov's 12th album for free on it's release date, July 4 at 12:01 a.m., 72 hours ahead of its general release.
