LeBron's Status Uncertain As Heat Prepare to Host Cavs

The Heat and Cavs will face off on Monday night but LeBron James may be a spectator

The Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers will take the court on Monday night but it may be without the involvement of LeBron James.

There are conflicting reports on the severity of a knee injury that James sustained on Sunday. However, Cleveland is playing its second game in as many nights and head coach David Blatt may opt to be cautious. Virtually locked into the second seed of the Eastern Conference, Blatt could see no justifiable reason to start his star if he is not healthy.

James has been enjoying another fantastic season and his Cavaliers have been rolling. Cleveland is currently on a four-game winning streak entering Monday's action. During that span, not only has James been dominant but the Cavs have received tremendous production from Kyrie Irving as well. Irving scored 57 points last week in a game against the San Antonio Spurs.

Thus far Miami and Cleveland have played twice this year. The Heat won the first match-up between the teams on December 25th. Cleveland got its revenge on February 11th shortly before the All-Star game. The Cavaliers took that game 113-93 when Miami was without the services of Dwyane Wade.

For the Heat, this game is more than just a reunion with their old All-Star. Miami is in ninth place in the Eastern Conference. The team is only a half-game back of eighth place but there is a lot of competition both above and below Miami.

Monday's game at American Airlines Arena will start at 8:00 p.m.
