Renyel Pinto Still on the Run

On the plus side, it's likely no one noticed he was missing.

Our favorite blingeed Marlin-on-the-lam, Renyel Pinto, is at it again. Or not at it all, rather, and nowhere to be found.

Pitcher Renyel Pinto was the only Marlins player who was expected but did not attend FanFest. His absence was unexcused...

The Marlins are irritated with Pinto, who will be disciplined for missing FanFest, but haven't found value for him in a trade.

Well, first they'll have to find him, though the posse's growing pretty large at this point. The lefty is already "running" from a Broward arrest warrant issued when he didn't appear in court last June on charges of driving without a valid license, as well as a default judgement of $6,000 awarded to his business manager when he failed to show up for that court date, too.

Yeesh. Even Mike Beasley's not pulling these sorts of stunts, and he's six years younger and watches cartoons.

So how angry are the Marlins? "Apoplectic" seems too heavy for a franchise fueled by apathy and housed in a football stadium, but considering the Fish reached an agreement with Pinto just weeks ago on next year's contract, he's made it pretty clear he's capable of showing up only when he finds it convenient -- and that's gotta be infuriating enough to get rid of him.

Problem is, the Fish can't just dump a middle reliever coming off a career year with their special brand of bullpen problems. Has anyone checked the Affliction store?
