South Florida Man Donates $43,000 to NFL Charity for Super Bowl Tickets

“When you are blessed in life, you should help and make sure you do everything in your power to help."

Super Bowl LI tickets came at a hefty price, but one Boca Raton man dished out thousands on a pair just for charity.

Greg Nikolopoulos bid $43,000 to score two Super Bowl tickets at the NFL's annual Party with a Purpose charitable event at the University of Houston.

A regular donor at the flashy Super Bowl Eve event that supports local food banks, Nikolopoulos returned the tickets right after winning them in a live auction – and then won them back in the re-auction.

"When you are blessed in life, you should help and make sure you do everything in your power to help," Nikolopoulos said of his spur of his moment decisions.

Nikolopoulos said he gifted the tickets to two of his friends and the NGR Stadium club seats were given to local kids chosen in Houston.

"We love to see people happy and smile," Nikolopoulos said. "That’s what life is when you can help."

Nikolopoulos attended the event with his daughter, Jennifer, who also donated $30,000 and adopted a dog at the NFL’s Players and Pets Super Bowl party.

The annual Taste of the NFL event features 32 of the nation's top chefs from each NFL city and pair them with current and former players to support hunger relief.

One-hundred percent of proceeds raised at the star-studded event filter directly back to each team’s hometown community, supporting food banks and pantries.
