Tropical Storm Danny Continues to Weaken

The now-former Hurricane Danny continues to weaken, remaining just barely a tropical storm.

As of the 5 p.m. advisory, Tropical Storm Danny was located about 210 miles east-southeast of Antigua.

Maximum sustained winds were at 40 mph. The storm is moving west at 16 mph.

A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Antigua, Barbuda, Montserrat, St. Kitts, Nevis, Anguilla. Tropical Storm Watches remain in effect for Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Maarten, Puerto Rico, Vieques, Culebra, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

A Tropical Storm Warning means tropical storm force winds are expected within 24 hours, whereas a Tropical Storm Watch means that tropical storm conditions are possible within the watch area, in this case within 36 to 48 hours.
