Pam Giganti is an Emmy Award winning journalist and leads the morning team at NBC 6 as the anchor of the NBC 6 News at 5 a.m., 5:30 a.m. 6:00 a.m. and most recently the NBC 6 News at 11 a.m. She has been an anchor at NBC 6 since June 2001.

In 2009, Giganti won an Emmy for her work on the health special, “Breast Cancer: Interactive”, and has been recognized with an NBC Ovation award for Outstanding Teamwork and a Certificate of Excellence.

Giganti is a veteran newswoman who has covered presidents and leaders, soldiers at wartime and countless hours of hurricane coverage. But perhaps one of Giganti’s most memorable and unusual broadcasts was the time she jumped out an airplane and broadcast live for a radio show.

After graduating with honors from the University of West Florida’s professionally accredited journalism program, Giganti worked in radio in Pensacola, Florida and in San Diego, California.

She later began her television career at WSVN in South Florida.

Giganti has always believed that to whom much is given, much is expected and lends her time to several charitable and children’s organizations. She has reported on and participated in Broward Health’s Chris Evert Children’s Hosptial, “Powerful Kidcare” Program.

Giganti is an Advisory Board member of the anti-drug organization and statewide Red Ribbon campaign sponsors, Informed Families. She is also a mentor for Women of Tomorrow, an outreach program for at-risk high school girls. Giganti and her husband regularly support the American Red Cross and the American-Nicaraguan Foundation.

Giganti has participated in Autism Speaks events, emceeing both a fundraiser and luncheon. She also participated in a “Reading is Hot” event at the American Airlines Arena for Miami-Dade public school students and read a book to 11,000 kids!

Speaking of kids, Giganti is a mother of 3 daughters, who keep her and her husband, Alfred very busy with homework, after school activities, and sports. In her spare time, Giganti likes to read, exercise, and travel.
