Sunday Talk Show Tip Sheet

The VP, the Speaker, the vanquished, and New York's Mayor Bloomberg hit the Sunday talk circuit.

Joe Biden makes his vice presidential debut on this Sunday’s talk shows, along with another administration official, congressional leaders and New York politicos reacting to Gov. David Patterson’s surprise pick to replace Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Senate.

Less than a week after getting sworn in as vice president, Biden headlines CBS’s “Face the Nation” to give his inside take on the new Obama administration’s transition to power.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), fresh off her first week working with the new administration, sits down with George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “This Week.” And her Republican counterpart, House Minority Leader John A. Boehner of Ohio, makes his case on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” where he’ll be joined by Barack Obama’s point man on the economy, Lawrence Summers, director of the National Economic Council.

“Fox News Sunday,” meanwhile, snags Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), the vanquished Obama rival who has taken to praising him lately. Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) also stops by to talk about the newly appointed New York senator, Democratic Rep. Kirsten Gillibrand.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg takes up the Gillibrand pick on CNN’s “State of the Union,” where host John King also lands Rep Mike Pence (R-Ind.). And Bloomberg’s fellow New Yorker — Democratic House Ways and Means Chairman Charles B. Rangel — makes an appearance on Bloomberg TV’s “Political Capital.”

Finally C-SPAN’s “Newsmakers” gets House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) to take questions from McClatchy’s David Lightman and The Washington Post’s Perry Bacon.
