No. 2 - A couple from Ecuador is facing charges in Broward County after authorities said they left a 7-year-old girl in a car while they were in the casino at the Seminole Hard Rock.
Sintia Pinargote, 31, and Carlos Enrique Herrera Pluas, 32, were arrested Sunday by Seminole Police on charges of child abuse without great bodily harm. Prosecutors said Pinargote said she had gone inside to pick up Pluas, her boyfriend, but surveillance cameras showed her arriving at the casino with Pluas around midnight.
No. 3 - After a surprise inspection uncovered filthy conditions at a Broward animal shelter, the county's mayor vowed in a phone interview with NBC 6 to not stop until changes happen at the multi-million dollar, three-year-old facility.
Mayor Mark D. Bogen sent outside inspectors last Friday to the shelter on Southwest 42nd Street, where he said they found "so much filth, dirt" and that the animals were living in horrible conditions.

No. 4 - The Miami Dolphins let another one get away as they continue to make progress following a horrific start to the season, but they remain winless after a 27-14 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night.
The Dolphins held a 14-0 lead through one quarter until Pittsburgh rallied with the final 27 points. Ryan Fitzpatrick ended 21 of 34 for 190 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
No. 5 - Millions of Californians prepared to be in the dark — some for five days, or longer — as the nation's largest utility said it was switching off power again Tuesday to prevent powerful winds from damaging its equipment and sparking more fires.
Pacific Gas & Electric Corp. said its latest blackout will start early Tuesday and affect 605,000 customers — about 1.5 million people —in 29 Northern California counties. The announcement came even before the last blackout had ended, which shut power to more than 2.5 million people.
No. 6 - A treasure in South Florida is opening its doors once again on Tuesday as the annual first day of business at Knaus Berry Farms takes place.
The farm, which has been in operation since 1956 and is located on Southwest 248th Street in Homestead, posted on social media earlier this month that they would be opening their doors on October 29th. Customers lined up long before doors opened, hoping to get one of the business’ famed cinnamon rolls or other items that include fresh produce, jams and more.
