Weather wise, afternoon showers and storms are in the forecast with rain chances increasing into the Father’s Day weekend and highs in the upper 80s.

No. 1 - Police are looking for two male subjects who fired gunshots at officers Tuesday night in Miami Gardens.

Miami-Dade police detectives attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a white Toyota Corolla that was carjacked from a woman in Opa-locka earlier in the day, police said. The two people in the car shot at the officers and ran away in the area of NW 152nd Street and 18th Avenue.

No. 2 - One of the teens who was shot in a robbery in the parking lot of a popular pizzeriais the nephew of a Miami-Dade commissioner.

The shooting happened Monday at approximately 1:55 p.m. near Frankie's Pizza on Southwest 40th Street, according to Miami-Dade police. Police are not identifying the victims but commissioner Esteban L. Bovo Jr. said in a tweet Tuesday that his family wishes for privacy during this time.

No. 3 - A Miami-Dade man accused of brutally beating his new roommate after meeting her through Craigslist was found guilty Tuesday of attempted murder.

Byron Mitchell, 39, was charged in the February 2016 incident that left Danielle Jones in a coma for several weeks. Attorneys delivered closing arguments earlier Tuesday before jurors began deliberations and quickly returned a guilty verdict.

No. 4 - Engineers had knowledge of extensive cracking and failed to order a street closed and shore up a pedestrian bridge before it collapsed and killed six people at Florida International University last year, according to findings revealed by a federal workplace safety agency.

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration concluded in a report released Tuesday that the size of the cracks warranted the street be shut down immediately.

No. 5 - A suspect in the shooting of former Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz was charged and five people were detained in the Dominican Republic, according to Dominican officials.

Eddy Vladimir Féliz Garcia rode his motorcycle up to the Dial Bar and Lounge where a passenger got off the bike just before 9 p.m., approached Ortíz and fired a single shot at close range before escaping, police said.

Authorities said it wasn't clear if any of the five men detained in the investigation were the gunman.

No. 6 - Today marks three years since the deadly Pulse night club shooting in Orlando where 49 people were killed plus the shooter in what was at that point the deadliest shooting in American history.

A number of events are planned for today near the club, many of them raising money for the victims' families.
