Officials are saying a sprinkler system is responsible for keeping a fire inside a Downtown Miami store from spreading to the rest of the strip mall it’s located in.
Crews responded to the scene inside of Flossie’s, a bookstore selling incense, oils and candles among other items, located at 111 SE 1st Avenue around 10 PM.
The store was closed and no employees were inside at the time of the fire. Crews entered and put out the blaze. Officials say the sprinklers went off and kept it contained.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
