Dolphins Trade RB Jay Ajayi to Philadelphia for 2018 Draft Pick

With just over half the season left, the Miami Dolphins traded a major piece of their offense Tuesday morning.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter and the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted the team traded starting running back Jay Ajayi to the Philadelphia Eagles for a fourth round draft pick in 2018, with the Eagles later confirming the trade.

Ajayi had run for 465 yards in the first seven games this season for the Dolphins, a dropout from last season when he ran for 1,271 yards and eight touchdowns. He was drafted in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft by Miami out of Boise State.

With the move, Kenyan Drake will likely be the team’s starting running back when the Dolphins host the Oakland Raiders this Sunday night – a game you can see on NBC 6.
