FBI Offers Big Reward for Capture of “Sundown Bandits”

$40,000 for info on pair of armed robbers have hit six South Florida banks

The FBI is looking for a pair of brazen bank robbers they've dubbed the "Sundown Bandits," who have hit at least six banks in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach in the past year.

Their robbery spree dates back to last December, when the two are alleged to have robbed the Fifth Third Bank at 199 N. University Drive in Pembroke Pines on Christmas Eve.

The pair, described as black males between 25 and 30 years old, are also believed to have robbed banks in Hialeah, Miramar, South Miami and Boca Raton.

According to the FBI, the Sundown Bandits jump teller counters and take money from the bank vaults. The thieves wear head coverings and their dress varies, from wearing long sleeve shirts and ties to baseball hats.

The reward for info leading to their arrest is up to $40,000, and the FBI cautions that the men should be considered armed and dangerous.
